Wendy’s Grilled Chicken Ranch Wrap features herb-marinated grilled chicken breast, shredded cheddar cheese, romaine lettuce, and new creamy ranch sauce wrapped in a warm flour tortilla.
It costs $6.29 near me but I received this courtesy of Wendy’s.
The tortilla is about 11 or 12 inches in diameter so it makes for a good-sized wrap. The folding job was a bit poor though and it unfolded itself as I unwrapped it so I ended up repacking it tighter and refolding it with a burrito fold (it was originally folded wrap-style with one end open).
The grilled chicken is different than before where they grilled the chicken at the restaurant and cut it up for salads and the like. Now they use pre-cooked, pre-cut chicken that appears to be heated up (in the microwave I’m guessing) to order as they’re not longer serving grilled chicken sandwiches. I still got the same lightly seasoned flavor and moist chicken. I tried one of the pieces by itself and noticed a slight tanginess but it wasn’t really apparent when eating it as part of the wrap. There was enough chicken to get some in most bites and the pieces were a good size.
The shredded cheddar cheese was very mild and added a vague creaminess to the wrap, while the romaine added a watery crunch.
There wasn’t much ranch in my particular wrap and I could have really used a good deal more as there are only five elements to the Grilled Chicken Ranch Wrap and four of them were very mild in flavor. As it stood, I only got occasional hints of tangy, herby ranch.
The tortilla was fairly thin for fast food but was still sturdy with a decent chew to it. It wasn’t warm at all though.
When it comes down to it, Wendy’s Grilled Chicken Ranch Wrap measures up to the sum of parts, which is to say it’s nice enough but not terribly exciting and as vanilla as it gets. Also, with nothing to cook and very little in the way of prep, it’s something you could throw together at home in a few minutes without much clean up after.
