Popeyes’ Strawberry Biscuit features a buttery biscuit made with strawberry bits and topped with creamy icing.
I paid $3.99 for two biscuits.
Popeyes’ biscuits are soft, moist, and fairly dense with a somewhat uniform texture inside. Outside, they’re craggy and crispy. I wouldn’t call them fluffy or flaky. They’re a bit on the small size as far as fast food biscuits go.
The strawberry bits were a fairly dull and muted shade of red. There wasn’t all that much of them in my biscuits so the sweet strawberry flavor was pretty sporadic.
The icing was a bit of a mess and slightly hardened. It wouldn’t call it creamy but it added a welcome sweetness to balance out the saltiness of the biscuit.
Taken altogether, Popeyes’ Strawberry Biscuit was just okay for me and could have used a lot more strawberry inside or maybe some type of strawberry sauce on top. As it was, I’d rather just get a regular biscuit, split it, and spread it with some butter and strawberry jam.
