Frosted Strawberry Milkshake Pop-Tarts feature the brand’s signature toaster pastry crust with a strawberry-milkshake-flavored filling. It’s topped with pink frosting and colorful sprinkles.
A 27-oz value pack box costs $4.98 but I received this courtesy of Pop-Tarts.
Out of the pouch, the Frosted Strawberry Milkshake Pop-Tart smelled a lot like a regular Strawberry Pop-Tart (the one with the jam-like filling).
The frosting on top was hardened with only a few sprinkles embedded in it. It didn’t have much of a flavor to it beyond a light sweetness.
The pastry crust was a shortcrust with crumbly texture that’s slightly powdery when untoasted.
Inside, the thin layer of filling looked a bit too much like Pepto Bismol but tasted fine. It tasted like Nesquik strawberry milk, which is to say it had a sweet and creamy strawberry flavor without any tartness. Out of the toaster, the filling was just a tad bit drippy. I also tried the Pop-Tart without toasting and the strawberry milkshake filling was gel-like at room temperature.
Overall, Frosted Strawberry Milkshake Pop-Tarts fared nicely in terms of flavor but as far as looks go, the frosting wasn’t great and the color and texture of the filling could be better.
