While
most
vegetarian
burgers
here
in
the
US
include
either
a
veggie
patty,
a
plant-based
meat
patty,
or
some
other
stand-in
for
meat,
McDonald’s
takes
a
different
tack
over
in
New
Zealand,
where
they’re
serving
up
a
Salad
Burger
that
is
basically
a
fairly
standard
burger
but
without
a
hamburger
patty.
As
such,
McDonald’s
Salad
Burger
features
tomato,
shredded
lettuce,
slivered
onions,
American
cheese,
two
pickles,
and
peppery
McChicken
sauce,
on
a
toasted
sesame
seed
bun.
Apparently,
the
Salad
Burger
is
McDonald’s
New
Zealand’s
answer
to
Burger
King’s
New
Zealand’s
burger
of
the
same
name.
Burger
King’s
Salad
Burger
is
slightly
different
though.
Most
notably,
it
includes
onion
rings.
Besides
the
onion
rings,
it
offers
a
familiar
combination
of
lettuce,
tomato,
pickles,
onion,
American
cheese,
and
mayo,
on
a
toasted
sesame
seed
bun.
